PRCA Badland’s Circuit Steer Roping Finals on September 3, 2011

Deadwood to Host Badlands Circuit Steer Roping Finals, Ranch Rodeo and Open 4D Barrel Race
 

Deadwood, S.D. - The award winning Deadwood Days of ’76 Committee, who was inducted into the PRCA Hall Fame is proud to produce the 2^nd annual PRCA Badland’s Circuit Steer Roping Finals on September 3, 2011. The event, which will begin at noon at the historic Days of ’76 arena will host five go-rounds with the top twelve Badland’s Circuit ropers competing for the Circuit Championship and a trip to the 2012 PRCA National Circuit Finals Championship. New this year will be the addition of a Ranch Rodeo produced by Clay Crago.

“We are thrilled again to host the Badland’s Steer Roping Finals,” said Jon Mattson of the Days’76 Committee. “These are some of the best cowboys not only in the Badland’s Circuit, but also in the entire United States There will not be a shortage of quality Ropers.”
 

Ropers that are expected to compete for the $10,000.00 plus prize money will include National Finals Steer Roping qualifiers. Ora Taton of Rapid City, SD, along with Jesse Tierney of Oral, who is currently ranked 12^th in the PRCA World Standings. Others competing will be last years Circuit Champion Jay Pixley from Upton, Wyoming, along with local favorites, Coy Thompson of Whitewood and Jay Mattson from Deadwood.

The Ranch Rodeo will include the St. Onge Live stock Team, which won the Belle Fourche Round - Up Ranch Rodeo in July. Ranch Rodeo events will include Stray Gathering, Team Sorting, Wild Cow Milking, and Ranch Bronc Riding.
 

Nine area Ranch Cowboy Teams will be competing for over $2000.00 in prize money and the title as the First Days of 76 Ranch Rodeo Champion.

In Addition at 9:00 am Open 4D Barrel Race will be held with Exhibition Runs beginning at 7:30 am. Get your tickets and rooms now!
